ARPA

ArpaA.R.P.A. is the acronym for the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection.
The main functions assigned to the ARPA are :
– Control of sources and pollution factors of air, water, soil, noise and electromagnetic;
– monitoring of various environmental components: climate, air quality, water, soil characterization, sound environmental level;
– monitoring and supervision of compliance with current legislation and the requirements contained in the regulations issued by the competent authority in environmental matters;
– technical and scientific support, instrumental and analytical to Entities with programming functions and active environmental management (Regions, Provinces and Municipalities);
– development of an environmental information system that is supportive to institutional bodies and for the interessed social organizations.

The LIMS for an ARPA must therefore provide adequate management of the monitoring activities, planned or occasional, have adequate area specialized software tools (Emissions, Workplace, Waste), and appropriate statistical tools.

Obviously the traceability of information detail (QA / QC) is a must.
