The use of periodic checks and of Tools Control cards is a system often used to check the correctness of the metrological confirmation intervals defined in the calibration protocols of each instrument in the Laboratory.
If the control chart shows that the monitored process is permanently below the limits, means that, in the considered period, the elements that affect it, assess the opportunity to increase the confirmation interval of the concerned instrument.
On the other hand, the occurrence of situations of “out of control limit” or the evident tendency of a drift, may suggest the reduction of confirmation interval.
