Laboratories of Public Health (L.S.P.) and the Agencies for Health Protection (A.T.S.) are often Accredited according to UNI CEI EN ISO-IEC 17025 and have different needs than those of a service laboratory for Hospital wards.
They must carry out their activities in coordination with other supervisory bodies (SERT, MTS centers, …), integrating data collection and Inspection of inquiries and must ensure Information Flows to different systems and data collection services (SIAN, NSIS, …).
In these Laboratories, more than a hospital LIS is therefore useful a LIMS that can support the necessary multidisciplinary approach of Departments (sometimes need specialized functionality for Clinical Analysis) and is flexible in responding to requests for availability of collected Information.
